Our accessible and central location in the scenic Peak District National Park close to the M1, M42 and the M6 motorways and several international airports make it very easy to get to our base in Hathersage from all over the UK and abroad...by road, rail or air.
Peak Activities' outdoor centre's staff are very safe and very experienced and friendly men and women who want everybody to have a good time safely. We're mature experts who have been in business at the same site for over 25 years. We know are not the cheapest providers of outdoor activities in the Peak Park. At Rock Lea Activity Centre our team of outdoor instructional staff wants everybody who comes to try out wide range of exciting outdoor activities with us to have a jolly, safe and trouble free time.
We therefore insist that all of our stag groups' participants arrive and stay sober until their day's activities are over. To keep things as safe as possible, under our standard terms we regret we will decline to work with any stag group member who is deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
MEN OF ALL AGES AND MIXED FITNESS ARE WELCOME ON OUR STAG WEEKENDS IN DERBYSHIRE !
We particularly welcome groups of men who invite along their dads and uncles ! From experience our NGB qualified staff have found that stag groups with a mixed age range often tend to be much jollier and have brighter sessions. When older men come along they need to be assured that no special fitness is needed to enjoy any of the activities we offer for beginners...although serious potholing, for example would not be a good choice for very unfit people ! Under 18's are only allowed on all male / stag events by prior written agreement .
TYPICAL STAG GROUP EVENTS PRICES :
For a party of 10 or more men, typical prices for outdoor instruction for stag groups range from £59 to £79 per person for a single half day session ( 3 hours) and c. £99 to £120 per person for a full day ( 7 to 8 hours) of activities with us. You can book two days of activities for around £129 to £150 each depending on the date, size of party and the chosen activities. Some of our days combine activities such as sailing, canoeing & water skiing and windsurfing cost us a lot more to provide than others, so it is always best to call us on 01433-650345 for a firm written quotation for the exact dates and combination of the activities required . All of Peak Activities instructed activities are covered by £5 million Public and Third Party Liability Insurance Cover.
ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS FOR STAG GROUPS VISITING THE PEAK DISTRICT AND ENJOYING ACTIVITIES WITH PEAK ACTIVITIES' OUTDOOR INSTRUCTORS...
We have lots of different types of local accommodation suitable for well behaved stag groups and hen parties - and we are always happy to help people find accommodation once they have booked with us.
For example, group organisers can opt to stay in luxury hotels, camping barns ( not bad for just £5 each / night ) inns and pubs and ( for very well behaved groups) youth hostels and B&B's. This year we are also offering groups the option of low cost camping in one of several local camp sites - and we can rent sleeping bags and tents to groups who need to hire kit from us. Please note, stag groups have been unceremoniously ejected from local camp sites for antisocial or unruly behaviour...so please don't consider camping if you're likely to fall over other people's tents late at night or keep them awake with your singing !
BOOKING YOUR OUTDOOR ACTIVITY STAG WEEKEND OR A SINGLE DAY OF STAG OUTDOOR PURSUITS WITH US :
Booking a weekend or a half day or a day is easy. Just call us on 01433-650345 tell us what you want to do and subject to availability and we'll be happy to take your booking by phone or fax or by post. We accept payments over the phone using MasterCard, Visa, Switch or Maestro credit cards. All we need is a payment and a signed booking form and then we will confirm everything for you in writing straight away.
STAG GROUP OUTDOOR SESSIONS - START & FINISH TIMES :
Usually morning sessions of outdoor pursuits for stag groups start at 9-00 am and afternoons start at 2-00 pm. When abseiling tuition or rock climbing or caving instruction is involved we may ask your party to all arrive a little earlier.
STAG GROUP LATE ARRIVALS & NO SHOWS :
We regret that if someone in your stag group doesn't turn up we cannot offer refunds. Similarly, if anyone turns up late we may not be able to get them to rendezvous with friends that may have set off without them and could be, for example, deep down in a cave or across at our watersports centre. IT PAYS TO BOOK IN YOUR STAG GROUP EVENT EARLY !
If you book your stag weekend early it is usually a lot cheaper than booking nearer the required start date. We are always happy to discuss arranging stag weekends at short notice - but generally the longer in advance you book, the cheaper your event will be.
Top tip consider the value of booking in initially a few less folks than you think you will have and we can always add to the number later once your booking is in the diary. Another top tip to group organisers is to get the money off your friends early so if they pull out of the event you'll won't be left out of pocket. It is also a very good idea in our experience to try to organise your stag party early if you are wanting to book a large number of people into a single venue such as a hotel or private camping barn, etc.
"A lot of businesses in the Peak District will not normally deal with all male or all-female groups visiting the area for stag or hen bashes. Sadly the antics of a few rogues often mess it up for the remaining very decent majority who want a sensible event with some adventure and not too much beer.... Here at Rock Lea we are happy to do business with stag group leaders providing everyone accepts the need to stay 100% sober whilst they are climbing hanging off high crags by one hand - caving deep underground a long way from help - or riding along on roads astride mountain bikes ! You can always head for the bar when the day's activities are over and if we've had a good day out with you it's possible some of the instructors will come and have a beer too if you want us to join you ! "
